REDESIGN
UX/UI Designer | 2 months | 2025
This academic project aimed to test my UI skills through the redesign of an existing web page.
I chose the Epic Games Store website, a digital platform that allows users to purchase, download, and manage video games across multiple devices.

PROBLEM TO SOLUTION
ISSUES AS
STARTING POINT
THE SOLUTION
Lack of clarity.
User research revealed they were often unsure where to click and which actions would lead to the desired outcome.
Lack of engagement.
The interface felt somewhat generic, and some sections and pages were visually disconnected from others, causing additional confusion.
Create clarity.
I restructured the typography system to establish a consistent visual hierarchy, standardizing headings and adjusting spacing to create clear visual separations and guide users through the interface.
Improve engagement & consistency.
I introduced a new color palette and a set of custom icons designed specifically for this product.

COLOR
Color was used to highlight key actions and increase engagement across the interface. I aimed to create a color palette that combined the original light blue and the mood board that I developed.

ICONS
Icons support recognition and help users quickly understand available actions.

OUTCOMES

The landing page was redesigned to create a clear entry point into the store.
A strong visual hierarchy, engaging hero visuals, and clearly defined call-to-actions help users immediately understand where to start and how to explore available games.
The store page has been redesigned with clearly defined sections to distinguish the different areas.
The visual hierarchy has been improved through the use of spacing, color highlights for key sections, and varied card layouts.

The game detail page was redesigned by introducing genre labels and using yellow to highlight the price.
In addition, a review section was added to provide more information, while the overall layout remains largely unchanged.
The free games page was redesigned to establish a clear pattern, using pink labels exclusively to highlight free games.
Finally, the card layouts were made consistent with the rest of the store.

In the menu, icons are essential, providing clear visual references for actions across the site, including on mobile.
A small toggle icon lets the menu switch between left and right positions, ensuring a simple, intuitive experience even for left-handed users.
